Our Story

Hockey has always been apart of my life.

It all started way back with my dad. My father was a great hockey player. He made it very far in his playing career and is the origin for the Masked Mentality.

My father grew up in western Massachusetts, USA. He first became a goalie because he wanted to play hockey but couldn't skate that great - ironic when you think of it, considering that as a goalie, you need to be one of the best skaters on the team.

He was a natural. Getting asked to tryout for the 21U Junior National Team (later known as the US National Team, the one that plays in the World Junior Championship) in 1978.

After that, he attended the University of Connecticut where he would have an incredible freshman campaign and end up being invited to the 1980 Olympic tryouts in the summer of 1979 out in Colorado Springs. Yes, the Miracle team.

Sure enough, once I was born, hockey was already in my blood. My whole family played.

At first, I wasn't sure I wanted to play. But then I too, became obsessed with hockey and more specifically, the goalie position. I loved the equipment specifically, which looked so intimidating as a young kid. So imposing, like a warrior. Yet reserved and calm.

I went on to become a goalie, and having my dad as a coach, he instilled the Masked Mentality into me. And now, I decided to bring it on as a brand.

All goalies need to embody the Masked Mentality. It's what separates the good from the great and the great from the legendary.
